Custom Cabinet Size Compatibility
My cabinet is a custom size (e.g., 580mm). Will this fit?
These Hettich kits are engineered strictly for standard industry modular widths (300mm, 450mm, 500mm, and 600mm). The hardware is dimensioned to fit a standard 16mm carcass board thickness. If you have a custom or odd-sized cabinet, this kit will not fit straight out of the box without significant modification by a cabinet maker. It is designed for standard "flat pack" or modular joinery dimensions.
No, this is a "complete" drawer set. Unlike some cheaper wire-frame pull-outs where you have to cut your own timber base, the Hettich Atira kit includes the pre-cut white melamine base and metal back panel. It is ready to assemble and install straight into your cabinet carcass without needing a table saw to cut parts.
The Hettich Quadro runners used in this kit are rated for significant weight (often 30kg+ dynamic load). They are designed to pull a bin full of glass bottles or heavy food waste closed gently every time. The "Silent System" dampening is integrated into the steel runner, meaning it won't wear out or lose its braking power easily like cheap plastic external dampers.
This model features Soft Close. When you push it shut, it catches and glides silently to a close, preventing slamming. However, you must pull it open with a handle. The "Push to Open" version ejects itself when you nudge it but doesn't have the soft-close damping. If you prefer the luxury of silent closing and have handles on your kitchen drawers, this is the superior choice.
The system comes with a fixed metal lid (shelf) that mounts inside the cabinet. When the drawer is closed, the bin buckets slide underneath this lid, effectively sealing them. This traps odours inside the bin rather than letting them waft through your kitchen. It also doubles as a handy shelf for storing bin liners or sponges.
The plastic bin buckets are fully removable. They have sturdy collapsible handles that allow you to lift them straight out of the frame and take them to the outside bin or sink. You can wash them with hot soapy water. The drawer frame itself is powder-coated steel and wipes clean easily with a damp cloth.
