This basket system is engineered to fit three specific standard external cabinet widths: 450mm, 600mm, and 900mm. It is critical that your internal cabinet width matches the required clearance exactly (418mm, 568mm, or 868mm respectively). It is specifically designed to sit behind a standard hinged door, making it a perfect retrofit for standard base cupboards.
These pull-out baskets utilize side-mounted, full-extension ball-bearing runners. You screw the runners directly into the left and right internal walls of your cabinet carcass. Once the tracks are secured, the wire basket simply clips into the runners.
These baskets are constructed from heavy-duty steel and finished with a high-quality polished chrome plating. While chrome is highly resistant to standard household humidity, it is not indestructible. Avoid storing harsh, leaking chemicals (like bleach or heavy-duty cleaners) directly on the wire, as acidic liquids can eventually eat through the plating and cause surface rust.
It depends entirely on what you are storing. The 150mm (shallow) basket is perfect for plates, frying pans, Tupperware, and standard low-profile pantry goods. The taller 280mm basket features higher side rails, making it the better choice if you want to store tall bottles of oil, large cereal boxes, or stacks of lightweight items that might otherwise tip backward when you pull the drawer open.
Wire baskets are brilliant for airflow and visibility, but very small items (like loose spice packets or tiny jars) can tip over or slip through the gaps. If you plan to store small items, we recommend placing a clear acrylic sheet or a non-slip rubber mat at the bottom of the basket to create a flat, solid base.
The beauty of wire baskets is that everyday crumbs and dust fall straight through to the cabinet floor, where they can easily be vacuumed up. For sticky spills (like honey or oil) on the wire itself, wipe them down with warm water and a soft microfibre cloth. Never use abrasive scourers or steel wool, as this will permanently scratch the chrome finish and invite rust.
