360 cans, cold and on display

The BD425B holds 360 cans in a 405 litre cabinet behind a triple-glazed, Low-E glass door that helps stop condensation building up on the outside. Inside, a Noctua fan and Jiaxipera compressor keep running noise to 43 dB, and the cabinet cools to 1°C even when the room around it reaches 38°C. The 304 stainless steel frame is slim and free of visible joins, so it reads as tidy rather than bulky.

Because it vents from the front, it can be built into a cavity rather than needing airflow at the sides, and the same model is available with wine shelving as the BD425W. The door is lockable, hinged on the left as standard with a right-hand option on request, and lit from inside with a soft blue LED strip. Shelves are heavy-duty and fully adjustable, sliding out on telescopic ball-bearing runners with 20 mm of adjustment between positions.

Building it in? Your cavity needs to be at least 675 mm wide, 845 mm deep and 1840 mm high, leaving 40 mm each side, 150 mm at the back and 40 mm on top for ventilation. Built in with the right ventilation, it runs quieter, cools better and lasts longer.
What it costs to run. Left on all year, it uses about 453 kWh (1.24 kWh a day). At 30c per kWh that is roughly $136 a year. Your own rate is on your power bill.
