Belt Rack | 3/4 Extension Slide

$88.50

A pull-out belt rack that keeps up to six belts visible and tangle-free.

An aluminium support track carries black plastic hooks and runs on a 3/4 extension slide, so belts draw forward for easy selection. Offered with a polished chrome-plated or aluminium matt track.

Answers from experts.

Shallow Wardrobe Belt Rack Compatibility

Will this fit in my shallow wardrobe?

This rack generally requires a minimum internal cabinet depth of 460mm to 500mm. Since it is a slide-out unit, it needs the full length of the runner to sit inside the carcass. If you have a shallow vintage wardrobe (under 450mm deep), you will need to measure carefully, as the runner cannot be cut down to size.

Tools Required For Belt Rack Installation

Do I need special tools to install it?

No, just a screwdriver or a small drill. The runner usually screws directly into the "System 32" holes (the pre-drilled holes found in most IKEA or custom cabinetry). If you don't have pre-drilled holes, you can simply use the included wood screws to attach it directly to the side panel at any height you choose.

Belt Rack Hook Strength For Heavy Buckles

Will heavy belt buckles bend the hooks?

The rack is constructed from steel wire with a durable plated finish (usually Chrome or Black). It is designed specifically for the weight of heavy metal buckles. Unlike plastic tie racks that can snap, these metal hooks are rigid and will not droop, even if you hang multiple leather belts on a single hook.

Using Belt Racks For Ties Or Scarves

Can I use this for ties or scarves instead?

You can, but it is optimized for belts. The hooks are usually spaced and shaped to hold a buckle. Silk ties may slip off the smooth metal hooks if they are jostled, and scarves can get bulky. If you primarily have ties, a dedicated "Non-Slip Tie Rack" (which has rubberized arms) is a better choice to prevent them sliding onto the floor.

Preventing Belt Rack Door Contact Noise

Will the belts bang against the cupboard door?

Because the rack mounts to the side wall, you must ensure you mount it far enough back (approx. 50mm-100mm from the front edge) so that the hanging buckles don't hit the hinges of your wardrobe door when you close it. If you mount it right at the front edge, the belts will swing and clang against the door every time you shut it.

Preventing Chrome Rack Rust

Does the chrome finish rust?

In a standard bedroom environment, no. However, if installed in a damp area (like a bathroom cupboard or a laundry) or near an ensuite without good ventilation, chrome plating can eventually pit. For a walk-in robe, a simple wipe with a dry cloth is all the maintenance it needs to stay shiny for decades.
