Answers from experts.

Under Cabinet Dishwasher Fit

Will this fit under my overhead cupboards?

The unit is 438mm high. Most standard Australian kitchens have a clearance of roughly 450mm to 600mm between the benchtop and overhead cupboards. We recommend measuring your vertical clearance to ensure you have at least 450mm, allowing a small gap for airflow. If your cupboards are unusually low, measuring is critical before purchase.

Connecting Dishwashers In Rental Homes

I am renting. Can I connect this to my kitchen tap?

Out of the box, this unit comes with standard inlet and outlet hoses, similar to a washing machine or full-sized dishwasher. To connect it to a kitchen mixer tap temporarily (without plumbing it in), you will typically need to purchase a separate "benchtop dishwasher diverter valve" or tap adapter from a hardware store. It does not draw water from a tank; it requires a pressurized water connection.

Preventing Dishwasher Leaks On Timber Benches

Is it prone to leaking if sitting on a wooden benchtop?

The unit is a sealed system designed to operate safely on a benchtop. However, for peace of mind-especially on timber or porous stone surfaces-ensure the connections at the back are tight and the drain hose is unobstructed. We recommend checking the inlet hose connection annually for any signs of wear, just as you would with a washing machine.

Dishwashers Vs Hand Washing

Is this actually better than hand washing?

Yes, both for hygiene and efficiency. This machine typically uses around 6-7 litres of water per cycle. Washing the equivalent amount of dishes by hand under a running tap can use up to 40 litres. Plus, the dishwasher uses hotter water (up to 70°C) than your hands can tolerate, resulting in a deeper, more hygienic clean.

Drying Plastic Items In Dishwashers

Does it dry plastics effectively?

Like most compact and energy-efficient dishwashers, this model relies largely on residual heat drying (the heat from the final rinse evaporates the water). Plastics lose heat quickly, so Tupperware may come out with some droplets. Opening the door slightly immediately after the cycle finishes helps release the steam and improves drying results significantly.

Preventing Dishwasher Odors

How do I prevent bad smells developing over time?

Since these units often handle smaller loads, food particles can accumulate in the filter faster than in full-size units. The 3-stage filtration system is located at the bottom of the tub. We recommend removing and rinsing this filter under a tap once a week to maintain cleaning performance and prevent odours.
