Pull-Out Bin Drawer | Cabinet Width & Bin Layout

$265.00

A door-mounted pull-out bin drawer that integrates waste, recycling, and compost separation directly into the cabinet — fully concealed, fully functional.

The frame is constructed from durable grey polymer with easy-clean interior surfaces that resist staining and odour retention. The soft-close, door-mounted runner mechanism opens with the cabinet door and returns silently under controlled resistance. Removable inner bins lift out cleanly for emptying without disturbing the frame. Available across five cabinet widths from 300mm to 600mm, with bin configurations scaled to suit — from a compact 10L + 10L twin layout to a four-bin 24L + 24L + 10L + 10L arrangement for larger kitchens.

Bin Compatibility With 450mm And 600mm Cabinets

I have a 450mm (or 600mm) cabinet. Will this bin fit exactly?

The WT Bin Drawer is engineered for standard Australian modular cabinet widths. If you buy the "450mm" model, it is designed to fit a carcass that is 450mm wide on the outside (with standard 16mm walls). It will not fit a custom 430mm or 460mm internal space without significant modification. Measure your cabinet's external width to match the model size exactly.

DIY Difficulty Of Pull Out Bin Installation

How difficult is the installation for a DIYer?

It is relatively straightforward. The unit features side-mounted runners that screw into the internal walls of your cabinet. The trickiest part is usually aligning the door panel so it sits level with your adjacent drawers. The mounting brackets offer 3-way adjustment (up/down, left/right, tilt), allowing you to fine-tune the door position after installation for perfect gaps.

Runner Strength For Heavy Glass Recycling

Are the runners strong enough for heavy glass recycling?

The WT system uses high-quality ball-bearing soft-close runners, typically rated for 35kg-40kg dynamic load. This is more than sufficient for a full load of wine bottles or heavy food scraps. The soft-close mechanism ensures that even with this heavy weight, the bin won't slam shut and damage your cabinetry; it will dampen the momentum and close gently.

Bin Capacity For A Family Of Four

Is the capacity enough for a family of four?

Standard configurations (usually 2 x 35L or similar) are the "sweet spot" for family use. While 70L total might sound less than a huge outdoor bin, in a kitchen context, it is ideal. It forces you to empty the general waste frequently enough to prevent bad smells, while the recycling bin is large enough to hold a day or two's worth of packaging.

Preventing Kitchen Bin Odours In Summer

Will it smell in summer?

The integrated metal lid sits flush atop the buckets when the unit is closed. While it isn't a hermetic air-tight seal (like Tupperware), it effectively baffles airflow, keeping normal kitchen odours contained within the carcass. We always recommend wrapping smelly proteins (meat/fish) before binning them, regardless of the bin system.

Cleaning Bin Buckets After Bag Leaks

How do I clean the buckets if a bag leaks?

The individual buckets lift entirely out of the sliding frame. If a bin liner splits, you can simply take the bucket to your laundry sink or outside to the garden hose for a thorough wash. The smooth internal walls mean sticky liquids wash away easily without getting trapped in sharp corners.
