Kia Ora Cutlery Insert 490mm Deep | 400–900mm Cabinets
A soft-touch insert with the compartments set forward — so the whole depth adjustment is one cut at the back.
Moulded in soft-touch food-grade material with a ribbed anti-slip base, in white or dark grey. Supplied oversize and trimmed to your drawer, which is what lets it sit hard against the drawer sides instead of rattling in the middle.
Which size do I order?
Order by your cabinet width — the size your cabinetmaker used, not the space you measure inside the drawer. The tray is 50mm narrower than the cabinet as supplied, and trims a further 50mm from there, so each size covers a 100mm band of drawer openings.
| Your cabinet | Tray is supplied | Trims down to |
|---|---|---|
| 400mm | 350mm wide | 300mm |
| 450mm | 400mm wide | 350mm |
| 500mm | 450mm wide | 400mm |
| 600mm | 550mm wide | 500mm |
| 700mm | 650mm wide | 600mm |
| 800mm | 750mm wide | 700mm |
| 900mm | 850mm wide | 800mm |
Depth is 490mm supplied, trimming to 420mm — so one tray covers both 450mm and 500mm deep drawers. Height is 55mm.
Before you order — check all four
- Your cabinet width. The carcase size. Not the drawer front, not the opening.
- The inside width of your drawer. Side to side, inside the box. It needs to fall inside the band for your size — between the two figures above.
- The inside depth. Anything from 420mm to 490mm is covered.
- The inside height. 55mm clear from the drawer base.
Can it be cut down?
Yes — and the depth takes only one cut. The compartments sit forward in the moulding, so all the spare material is at the back. Trim the rear and the front edge — the one you see every time the drawer opens — stays exactly as moulded.
To trim: mark the underside, score the line several times with a sharp blade against a steel rule, snap it over the edge of a bench, then smooth the cut. If you fall between sizes, order the larger one.

Best for
Drawers where the tray should fill the space properly rather than sit loose in it, and retrofits where the opening is whatever the last kitchen left behind. The rear-only depth cut makes it the quickest of the trimmable trays to fit neatly.
