Choosing The Right Towel Rail Size
Customers asked these questions about Nova Solid Brass Hook | Satin Brass
Answers from experts.
The Nova hook comes in multiple sizes (from XS at 20mm diameter up to L at 32mm diameter). The right size depends entirely on what you are hanging. The XS and S sizes are perfect for keys, jewellery, or lightweight hand towels. If you plan to hang heavy winter coats, thick bath sheets, or wide-strapped tote bags, we strongly recommend sizing up to the M or L so the item has enough surface area to grip without slipping off.
Installing Wall Mounted Towel Rails
How does it attach to the wall?
It features a concealed fixing design for a clean look. The hook comes with a wall anchor and a mounting screw. You drill a hole, insert the wall plug, drive the screw into the wall (leaving the head exposed), and then thread the brass hook tightly onto the screw. No ugly base plates or visible screws are left on show.
Solid Brass Towel Rail Construction
Is it actually solid brass, or just painted to look like it?
It is machined from 100% solid brass. When you take it out of the box, you will immediately notice the heavy, dense weight of the metal. It is not a hollow tube or a cheap zinc alloy painted gold. This means it has immense structural integrity and will never bend or snap, even if you overload it with heavy wet bath robes.
Peg Style Towel Rail Security
Is the peg design too simple? Will my towel fall off?
The minimalist, straight-cylinder design is incredibly popular for modern, Scandi, and contemporary spaces because it doesn't clutter the wall. However, because it doesn't have a large "upward hook" curve, very thick or slippery items can sometimes slide off if not draped properly. If you are hanging heavy bath towels, opting for the larger diameter (Size L) helps trap the fabric securely against the wall.
Matching Satin Brass Hardware
Does Satin Brass clash with bright gold hardware?
Satin Brass is a brushed, slightly muted tone. It is much softer and warmer than the harsh, bright yellow of polished gold or cheap brass plating. It coordinates beautifully with organic textures like timber, concrete, and matte tiles. If the rest of your hardware is highly polished, mirror-finish gold, this matte satin finish will look distinctively different-so aim to match your finishes across the room.
Cleaning Brass Bathroom Hardware
How do I clean it without ruining the protective coating?
The golden rule for treated brass is to avoid harsh chemicals at all costs. Do not use bathroom bleach, acidic tile cleaners, or abrasive scourers (like Gumption or Scotch-Brite) anywhere near the hooks. These will eat through the clear protective lacquer and cause the brass underneath to spot and tarnish. A simple wipe with a damp, soft microfibre cloth is all it needs.
