Häfele

Häfele Excel Utensil Tray | Fits drawers 358–390mm or 508–540mm wide | Trims to fit

$26.95

A moulded utensil tray with the compartments set wide — for the tongs, whisks and serving spoons a cutlery slot refuses.

Supplied oversize and trimmed back to your drawer, so it sits hard against the sides instead of rattling in the middle. Two sizes, and these are the tray's own measurements, not the cabinet's:

  • Small: 390 × 485mm as supplied, trims down to 358 × 444mm
  • Large: 540 × 485mm as supplied, trims down to 508 × 444mm

Measure the inside of your drawer side to side and front to back, then pick the tray whose range covers both. Anywhere inside the range works — it is the bottom figure that is the hard floor, because the tray cannot be cut past it. Allow 57mm clear above the drawer base.

Trimming

The tray is made to be cut down: it carries a wide flat rim for the purpose, and Häfele's own instruction is to cut it with a circular saw. What they don't publish is how far you can go, so the minimums above are read off the manufacturer's dimensioned drawings. Measure twice — a trimmed tray cannot be returned.

The second drawer in a run, or the free half of a wide one. It sits happily beside a Ninka Cuisio cutlery tray where the cutlery is already handled and the big utensils still need somewhere to go.

Answers from experts.

Ensuring Tray Fit For Specific Drawer Dimensions

How do I ensure this tray will fit my specific drawer dimensions?

The tray is cleverly engineered with a wide perimeter edge that allows you to easily trim and cut the plastic down to perfectly match the exact internal dimensions of your drawer.

Special Tools Needed To Cut Drawer Trays To Size

Do I need special tools to cut the tray to size?

A sharp utility knife and a straight edge are all you need to score and snap the wide plastic border for a flawless, custom fit within your cabinetry.

Preventing Plastic Tray Warping Or Cracking From Heavy Utensils

Will the plastic warp or crack over time from heavy metal utensils?

Crafted from premium 2.5mm thick vacuum-formed plastic, this tray is incredibly robust and specifically designed to withstand the daily impact of heavy kitchen tools without cracking or bowing.

Depth Of Compartments For Bulky Items Like Spatulas And Ladles

Are the compartments deep enough to hold bulky items like spatulas and ladles?

With a generous height of 57mm, the compartments are deep enough to comfortably store larger, awkwardly shaped utensils while still maintaining a slim, elegant profile that won't catch on the drawer above.

Cleaning Plastic Drawer Surfaces With Food Spills

Will the plastic surface be difficult to clean if food spills inside the drawer?

The smooth, vacuum-formed finish features gently curved internal corners that prevent crumbs from getting trapped, meaning a quick wipe with a damp cloth easily restores its pristine appearance.

Matching Tray Colour To High-End Cabinet Interiors

Can I match the tray colour to the interior finish of my high-end cabinetry?

Available in versatile Anthracite, crisp White, and modern Silver, you can seamlessly integrate the tray into your existing design language for a quiet, built-in aesthetic that lasts.
